Aliki Chrysochou and her amazing true story of the healing power of music
When I ran across this video, I knew I had to share it, not because she’s an amazing singer or that she was a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, rather, the story that comes with her.
As it turns out, Aliki Chrysochou is a living, breathing, walking testimony of overcoming adversity through the healing power of music.
After coming home from university, she was diagnosed with focal encephalitis, which is an inflammation of the brain, and it left her unable to speak, read, or write, as well as paralyzed.
The doctors weren’t sure if she would ever recover, and then one night in the hospital, her mom started humming songs Aliki enjoyed since childhood… and she started humming back.
I won’t ruin the rest of the story, I’d rather you watch. It truly is amazing.
After you hear her story, you’ll definitely want to follow her. Her debut album is in progress and I’m looking forward to it.
Watch the video, and when you’re ready, check out her YouTube channel for her covers, and for news and updates, follow her on Facebook. The links are below the video!
