Why Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly Are Dissing Each Other

A lot of people are reporting this as a new thing between Eminem and MGK, but technically that’s not true. It’s more like an old beef renewed. So what happened and why is it surfacing now?

It’s surfacing now because last week Eminem dropped his surprise album Kamikazee, which is being called a diss album, and one of the songs, “Not Alike” takes aim at Machine Gun Kelly.

Now you wanna come and fuck with me, huh?/This little cock-sucker, he must be feeling himself/He wants to keep up His tough demeanour, so he does a feature/Decides to team up with Nina/But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne if you wanna come at me with a sub-machine gun/And I’m talking to you but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly/I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss/But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.

That didn’t sit right with Machine Gun Kelly so he responded with his diss, however it goes back much further than that. Truth be told, MGK actually started this whole thing back in 2012 when he made a comment about Eminem’s daughter, Hailie, tweeting that she was ‘hot as f***’.

The video below is an interview MGK did on HOT 97’s Ebro in the Morning a few years ago. Around 34:30 the question of social media and the tweet about Hailie comes up. You don’t have to watch the whole video, but it is a really good interview.

Later, MGK claimed that his Hailie comment got him banned from certain media outlets, including Shady 45, an uncensored Hip Hop channel, which he even rapped about last year on a Power 106 LA freestyle, promoting his “Bloom” album, (21:10 in the video).

And now you know why Eminem dissed MGK on his album, and no. Your math isn’t wrong. The tweet from MGK is six years old.

In a tweet yesterday (Sep3) he said the following.

im standing up for not just myself, but my generation. im doing the same shit you did back in ur day. life is still real on my side, and i had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone i called an idol. love, Rap Devil.

I’m not going to get into all of the back and forth between what everyone is saying, simply because first, I actually have very little tolerance for “he said, she said” stuff, second, Eminem hasn’t responded to the diss video (yet), and thirdly, Machine Gun Kelly is on the record as to why he responded.

All we’re waiting on now is for Eminem to respond — and that is the entire story up to today (Sep4). Stay tuned!
